Workshop

Contemporary lace

Teacher: Lieve Smets

Part 1:
“Cross-over”: design with dripping technique
The dripping technique is typical for action-painting where the painter drips paint onto a canvas. Applying this to glass resembles a lace work. This will be the start for a contemporary structure in bobbin lace with a choice of colours, materials, different layers…

Knowledge of the basic stitches is sufficient.

Part 2:
Grounds from traditional lace will be the start for some free structure looking for a wild appearance.

Knowledge of basic stitches and technical drawings.
